Search report filters allow you to build up filters via a selection of fields to find what you most frequently want. The advanced search page offers you a selection of fields by which to constrain your filter. The more fields you specify the tighter the filter becomes and the fewer items the search result is likely to find. A search result is a hit-list of items whose metadata matches to the combined filters you have applied.
Remember the system uses the simple 4 stage Community Planning Model. The system allows you to set your filter for just one stage. The system shows you which fields are available to you for each stage; Plan, Issue, Proposal or Action. If you want to restrict your results to just one stage of the Model, you click the appropriate stage Tab and set your values. Then click the Search button on that Tab. The first 'All Stages Tab' searches on fields common to all stages of the model..

In this case if you want to restrict your results to just 'Issue' items, you click the 'Issues Tab' and set your values on however many fields you want to filter on. Then click the Search button on the Issues Tab:

Some filter fields offer you the choice of drop lists from which you can choose. Other filter fields let you type a word or some text for the filter to match.
Please note you should leave blank any field you are not searching on. Any blank field will mean the search does NOT exclude items based on this field.
Click [Search] when you have setup the search constraints on your fields.
