Definition of Government (Integrated Public Sector Vocabulary) Topics Used on the System

The IPSV is a centrally managed vocabulary and may have changed over time you will find the up to date list when you are using the system. Your System Manager initially included the following:

CATEGORY explanations

If you are wondering how best to categorise PROPOSAL or ACTION, then use the following list to help you decide. You have 2 chances to categorise your PROPOSAL or ACTION, primary and secondary. You may only choose one Primary category, but can choose any number of secondary categories if you feel your PROPOSAL or ACTION fits under more than one category. Click on the categories below for an explanation and examples.

There is no need to set any secondary categories and you should avoid just clicking every category if it is only tenuously associated with your Proposal or Action. It will not help readers to focus on items if you click too many minor associated categories.

Another help to make a decision may be to search for similar PROPOSALS or ACTIONS elsewhere to see how they were categorised.

There is no right or wrong choice when categorising and many of your choices may be 50/50 and no category system will ever match every PROPOSAL or ACTION exactly.
